Born on December 17, 1976, in Coeur d’Alene at Kootenai Memorial Hospital, Dan was the youngest of six siblings in the Kootenai School District. Despite being the baby of the family, he naturally emerged as a leader. A talented athlete, Dan set the school record in the 300-meter hurdles at Kootenai High School, graduating as Valedictorian in 1995.
Dan pursued his love of problem-solving at Gonzaga University, earning a Civil Engineering degree, where his intelligence, work ethic, and determination first became evident.

Dan’s dedication to his community was unwavering. He served as President of the Ducks Unlimited Silver Valley Chapter, contributing countless hours to preserve wetlands and mentor fellow hunters. From setting decoys at dawn to organizing banquets, Dan ensured everyone felt included and valued.
